Philips BDP-7300 vs. BDP-9100 - AVForums.com

Does anyone know if BDP-9100 has any features above the BDP-7300 except the 21:9-mode? Thanks! Thomas Hi Thomas, I have the BDP9100/12 BR but I do not have the 7300 to make any comparisons. However 9100 plays mkv files with its factory firmware (no new firmware has been released so far) and shifts subtitles brilliantly if you select 21:9 screen format. Philips BDP7300, BDP3000 et BDP5000

Philips BDP3000 MKV Playback Optimization - AVForums.com

Hi, I've just upgraded the BDP3000 to latest firmware (V1006.1) which allow media playback through USB. I tried 1080p MKV (I think it's DivX/H.264) sample (Confucius) but it is unwatchable (picture is "blocky"). I tried another fine in 1080i with better success, it is not super smooth but picture quality is great. My TV is Samsung Gen 4, test playback @ 1080p24/50 and 720p. I wonder if I can or need to re-encode the file to something else to help this player a bit. Any thoughts? Thanks, [suite...]

Philips BDP7300 mkv issue

I have updated it to the latest firmware version available online, and i have seen it play some mkv files, but yesterday i converted a ts file to mkv but that wouldnt play. I used handbreak to make the conversion. Maybe its a matter of handbreak settings? What would be the correct specs for a mkv file to play in this player? what video codec did you use in handbrake? usually it is just enough to repack video from .ts to .mkv using mkvmerge from mkvtoolnix, and not transcode via [suite...]
